A & A + 1

Yesterday, I was talking to Adrian about the TLC show "Jon and Kate Plus 8" and wondering how they decided to make damn sure they couldn't have any more children. I wondered if Kate had had her tubes tied after the birth of the sextuplets or if Jon had had a vasectomy or if she's simply still on birth control, when Adrian said (emphatically no less), "They don't have sex!" And I thought about it, and that's the most simple but probably true answer there is. Where do you find the time or the privacy with eight kids to have sex? (But seriously, though, if you watch the show more than I do, did they ever cover this in an episode?)

Update: After some Googling, I had an answer to my own question - they don't need birth control since they needed help getting pregnant in the first place. I guess Kate doesn't ovulate, so they sought fertility help for both pregnancies. Duh!

CS/25-26

As Adrian says, my blog is slowly turning into nothing but Celebrity Sightings, but what can I do? I really can't imagine people are all that interested in the fact that I sing nursery rhymes about 100 times a day or sit on the floor for hours on end making sure Jack doesn't crawl into any sharp corners. I also get out once in awhile and I can't help it if I'm always in the right place at the right time. Today, Adrian spotted the first celebrity as we were crossing the street right by our house. He whispered, "That's Ben Stiller's dad...the guy from Seinfeld." I looked and couldn't believe that the guy in question could be Jerry Stiller. This guy was dressed very slovenly and looked like he could have potentially been homeless. We decided to turn around and walk by him again. Luckily, he stopped to take a phone call and we made sure to hear his voice. As we passed, he said something about "stop calling me" and sure enough, you can't mistake that voice if you've ever watched an episode of Seinfeld or The King of Queens. (When I wondered aloud who he was talking to, Adrian said, "probably his wife" - har har.) At the end of our walk, we ran into the Barnes & Noble in our neighborhood and I saw Joan Allen approach the information desk to ask about the publication date of a book. She was in workout gear and had not a stitch of make-up on, but she has very distinct features and she's very tall and thin and I was positive it was her. Sure enough, after doing my Google research, I confirmed that both of these celebrities live on the Upper West Side.
