EXHAUSTED BECAUSE...

With one trip to Valley Fair, Adrian and I started and finished our Christmas shopping - and it's not even December yet! And we didn't do too bad on the gifting of ourselves either. I'd say it was a good day.

ROBIN HOOD WAY IDOL

If I had been blessed with the talent to sing, I would have pursued nothing less than to be a famous singer. Since that isn't the case, I choose to sing only in the privacy of my own car or house. I have never sung karaoke, nor would I want to - I try to keep away from any situation that would be mortifyingly embarrassing. PlayStation Karaoke seemed like a different ballgame though. How embarrassing can it be to sing in front of your best friend? Quite a lot, actually. Until you get warmed up, that is, and then it's a walk in the park. Katie and I were belting out tunes left and right, and do I dare say that I even got a perfect score on Hoobastank's "The Reason" - I may not be a perfect person, but I sure can carry one pop tune. Not only did I receive a platinum record, but my character actually lit up with a glowing aura. Then it was on to dueling duets, where we each had the chance to knockout our opponent by singing better. I won't get into the details, but you can call me the Mike Tyson of the PlayStation, thank you very much. Katie, I hope to see you on the rooftop very soon.

TURNING 30 AIN'T SO BAD

Okay, so I know I'm not technically 30 yet, but Katie and I just celebrated our "Turning 30" day and I think we're off to a great start. We spent a whole day at the Nob Hill Spa, courtesy of Adrian, who planned the whole thing. We arrived at 10:45am and didn't leave until 6:00pm - and our day was jam-packed. We felt like we were in college again with our spa programs that told us where we would be throughout the day and what time our treatments started. We each had a green tea scrub, a massage, a facial, a manicure, and a pedicure - with a salad and wine lunch in between. It was pure bliss, without a doubt. It's a life that one could definitely get used to. It was a day that was unforgettable. Bring on the 30.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KATIE CARSON

May your 30th year of life bring all the happiness you could ever want, and all the wisdom you may seek. It's been one of the highlights of my life to have met you and known you for as long as I have. I look forward to all that's in store for us. Let's get this party started!

(And, of course - a shoutout to my girlfriend, Sy, who is also celebrating a birthday today. Wishing you, as well, nothing but the best!)
