I have bangs. And I actually asked for them, and I actually like them. For all the male readers of this blog, this might seem like a trivial blog topic, but my female readers understand. I haven't had bangs since I was a little kid. I'm talking like ten years old. I've resisted getting them for a long time too - especially now that they're coming back in style. Sy got them, then Katie got them. I resisted, thinking they weren't for me, but I was wrong. They're so cute. I'm not too sure about my new hairstyle as a whole - I definitely have to go home and see what I can do with it myself, being that you can never make it look like the stylist did in the salon. But the bangs - they're good to go.

I've decided that I like my airplane flights the same way I like my movie theatre experiences - not too many people in close vicinity, no strangers sitting right next to me, and no loud, talkative people anywhere near me. It is a rare experience indeed to watch a movie in a theatre without something or someone bothering me. There is at least one cell phone going off - even after myriad warnings on-screen about turning the darn thing off. The last movie I went to I was unfortunate enough to sit RIGHT NEXT TO a woman who kept asking her husband questions IN A NORMAL VOICE throughout the movie as well as BURP (yes, I said BURP) loud enough to turn heads. Not fun. Not enjoyable. Not sanitary. My last plane flights were much better experiences. I didn't have anyone sitting next to me on either flight and both planes were filled to less than capacity. There were a couple of guys chattering on and on about mortgages and job securities, but I was able to focus on my readings enought to drown them out. Fun and enjoyable.

As of Monday, February 9, my reign of unemployment officially ends. I will be returning to my old company, but this time I will be working from home on a part-time basis. My duties will consist of working on faculty training workshops - specifically WebEx seminars - and I will be working with an old friend (who was the one who recommended me for the job in the first place). I am very excited for this position - it will be great to work from home and it will be nice to work with professors again. I can also set my own hours - which gives me plenty of time for the treadmill and my new favorite show "Pyramid" - if you haven't seen it, I definitely suggest checking it out. I need to revel in my last few days off - and I can think of no better way than going up to Portland and shopping for a bridesmaid dress!
