After a year with an absolute horrendous boss, I have to say that my current boss is the bomb. Tomorrow my company has a half-day in preparation for the Labor Day weekend - knowing that I am leaving for vacation on Saturday, my boss told me to take tomorrow off and go get a manicure and pedicure (yes, my boss if female). Then this morning, in my mail, I received a card from her with a $25 American Express gift certificate enclosed and a note to "have a sunset drink on me!". I may not love the work, but the people at this job are great!

It's just been one of those days. Before leaving for work this morning, I noticed that our back license plate had been stolen (and we don't even live on Grandview!). Adrian and I headed to the DMV where we proceeded to wait for 3 1/2 hours before our number was called. In that time, we watched many 16-year-olds go on their driving test, with the majority emerging from their cars with triumphant smiles on their faces. I then noticed that my watch (which has been part of my life for almost 6 years ) was cracked. I love this watch. Now I am even more frustrated. I get brand-new license plates for a fee of $8 - bizarre, I know. But they don't give us screws. Adrian has to be back at work, so I'm left to go find screws on my own. Target was my lifesaver - I begin affixing the plates in the parking lot of Target when I realize that I've stepped in a huge wad of green gum. I am finally at work and I just want to go home. Seriously, it has been a manic Thursday. Let's hope tomorrow's trip to Chicago is much less eventful!
