6 DAYS...

Six days left, and boy, how I will not miss these summer thunderstorms. It doesn't help that I packed all our umbrellas except one and that we more than likely forget that one anyways. Late afternoon today, we headed out for more pre-wedding celebrations at the Water Taxi Beach Bar at South Street Seaport. We brought Jack along so he could meet all the people that he's never met, as well as to say hello to those he doesn't see that often. We didn't stay for too long because there wasn't that much there to keep him occupied, and the music was really loud. Plus, it started raining the moment we got there, and it just got worse as time wore on. We had quite the adventure coming home - we were dumb enough to grab a cab at 5:20pm on a Friday night at the southern-most tip of Manhattan and think that in the midst of all the rain, it would be a breeze to get home. Over an hour later, we were still no farther than 34th Street and we had run out of snacks for Jack and it was quite near his dinnertime. We finally made the decision to jump out at 42nd and take the subway the rest of the way, only getting slightly rained on at various parts of our journey. Oh, and that lovely blowout I got this morning - money down the drain. Like I said, I will not miss these summer thunderstorms...
